Nature has presented Bad Reichenhall richely: since thousands of years the precious saline AlpenSole is sputtering out of officially recognized medicinal springs. Baths and inhalation applications with the brine AlpenSole shall regenerate the respiratory ducts, strengthen the immune system and appease skin diseases. In the Königlicher Kurgarten (King’s spa garden) a so called Gradierwerk has been constructed which enriches the natural air with the brine AlpenSole, here one can breathe in this healthy air. The old salt refinery Alte Saline with its underground tunnel systems is worth a visit. Till this day the huge water wheels steadily run, banking the brine to the surface. The cathedral Münster St.Zeno is said to be the biggest roman church building in Upper Bavaria. The cable car Predigtstuhlbahn is the world’s oldest, originally preserved big cabin cable car which is operated all-the-year.
