The Moor-Erlebnispfad (Moorland-Adventure-Path) is a fascinating 5,3 km discovery travel through the Inzeller Filzen, one of the last big moor landscapes of the Chiemgauer Alps. In a moor nature is storing water like a sponge. A moor is a mystic place which gives beautiful home for lots of seldom plants and animals. The history of the Inzeller Filzen began 12 thousand years ago, when the endless glaciers of the last Icetime slowly started to melt down and our ancestors hunted the mammoth. Back to the Past.
Following the Moorland-Adventure-Path you will learn about the hour of birth of the Filzen moor, which was created by the strength of one singular plant. On the excursion you learn about the secret work of the turf moor, you get to know a “Moorkolk” and whether carnivorous plants are really existing. You can experience how much water is stored in the moor and about the risks of sinking in the moor. At least you learn how to cut peat out of the moor and how easy it is to create funny tree faces.
For families. If behind each elbow, each knoll, each tree the next surprise is popping up, even walking reluctant kids become adventurers and can’t stop walking and looking for the next surprise. The Moorland-Adventure Path is worth a visit at every weather, in every season even by wheelchair or with a baby buggy.
Time for a break. Halfway of the 5.3 kilometer Moorland-Adventure-Path it’s time for a break. Wooden tables and benches make an idyllic place to enjoy the carried along Brotzeit (snack), to drink something or just to relax and enjoy the view of the fascinating moorland. Finally the second half of the adventure path is tackled.
