The landmark of the Bavarian capital city München is the cathedral Frauenkirche with its two towers which can be seen from afar. The München Rathaus (townhall) a neo-Gothic building is located at the Marienplatz, just in the center of Munich. One of the most favorite photo attractions is the Glockenspiel located just underneath the roof of the Rathaus it plays everyday at 11am and 12am. In the Deutsche Museum one can experience natural sciences and engineering and in the Allianz Arena the stars of football are celebrated. The park Englische Garten is the green oasis of München. Uncountable visitors are walking through the spacious park area everyday, take a side trip to the restaurant Seehaus at the lake Kleinhesseloher See and the tower Chinesische Turm or watch the surfers on the Eisbachwelle. On the fairground Theresienwiese the world’s biggest folk festival the Oktoberfest takes place every year. For a daytrip to München best is to take the train from the Traunstein railway station, that’s easy and rather cheap, especially as a group or family.
